“Seventh Grade Language Arts & Social Studies remains one of the most important (if not the most important) classes I've ever taken... I use the critical thinking and writing skills you taught us all the time when arguing for clients. And I'll never forget my stack of facts notecards from The Forest People or Le Morte d'Arthur. I even have my binder of all of your critical thinking materials!”
  • From a graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School who now works as a public defender

I set the objective high, for my students and myself.

This elevated vision for what education should be and deep faith that students can achieve such heights define my teaching and make it unique.

My innovative Critical Thinking Humanities Program has a proven record of excellence developing the essential skills of inquiry and transforming student learning through active methods that empower and build independence.

It has been honed through 27 years of teaching in leading independent schools and work training educators nation-wide for the Foundation for Critical Thinking.

I am pleased to offer my yearlong program of study to home school families for grades 7-12 with live on-line Zoom classes for the 2021 – 2022 school year.

My course will bring rigorous and engaging learning into your home for a two-hour long humanities class, combining language arts and social studies, five d
ays a week for a full school year.

All students thrive in my thinking- and skill-centered program, from the gifted to those with learning differences.  Students enjoy my classes and know they are receiving a unique opportunity and a different kind of education.

I look forward to speaking with you about your goals for your child.
